Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Fritter helps you track what you spend and build better money habits. We collect only what the app needs to do that, we never sell your data, and you can delete everything from inside the app at any time.

Who we are

Fritter (“Fritter”, “we”, “us”) is the developer of the Fritter mobile application. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at support@getfritter.com.

Information we collect

How we use your information

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your spending data for advertising. Fritter contains no advertising SDKs and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

AI processing

Fritter’s AI features are powered by Anthropic’s Claude models, called only from our own servers — the app itself never talks to Anthropic directly. Depending on the feature, we send: the receipt or screenshot image you scan (processed transiently, never retained), the voice transcript of a spoken log, the question you type to the assistant, compact summaries of your spending (totals, categories, and top merchants — for Journey analyses covering up to roughly the past year), your stated goal in your own words, and — for Journey tasks that work with them — the figures and short notes you have declared in the Journey. Anthropic processes this data to return a result and does not use it to train its models.

Who we share data with

We use a small set of service providers (“sub-processors”) to operate Fritter. They may process your data only to provide their service to us:

SupabaseSecure database, authentication, and backend hosting for your account, spending, and Journey data.
AnthropicAI processing for receipt scanning, spend verdicts, the Ask assistant, Journey analyses, and weekly insights.
AppleSign in with Apple, Siri speech-to-text for voice logging, and processing of subscription payments through the App Store.
GoogleSign in with Google, if you choose it.
RevenueCatManaging and validating subscription status, under your random account identifier.
PostHogProduct analytics and crash reports, under your random account identifier.

To convert currencies, the app also fetches public exchange rates (from open.er-api.com). No personal data is sent with these requests — as with any web request, the provider technically sees your device’s IP address, and nothing more.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and our service.

Data retention

We keep your account, spending, and Journey data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and everything associated with it — spending, savings, bills, insights, chat, and Journey data — are permanently removed from our systems. One honest detail: when you clear an assistant conversation inside the app, the message text is erased immediately, but an empty timestamp record is kept so free-usage limits can’t be reset by clearing history; deleting your account removes those records too. Analytics events that are no longer tied to an account may be retained in aggregate.

Your rights and choices

Security

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls so that each account can only reach its own data. If you turn on the Face ID app lock, the biometric check happens entirely on your device — we never receive or store any biometric data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.

International transfers

Our service providers may process and store data in countries other than your own, including the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Children

Fritter is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
